This Commission decides two years in advance which colours, forms and textiles are going to be fashionable in a given year. From Éva Bajczár I learn about the newest trends and leading fashion houses' collections firsthand.

2009 SPRING-SUMMER

Characteristic for this season are colours full of sunshine. Blue, yellow, red in all quantities. Romantic motives, tiger and panther patterns, stripes and jacquards are highlighted. Rigid materials will be present besides mysteriously transparent and light textiles. And the knitted summer dress is gaining ground, too.

The main principle is femininity, most effectively achieved by streamlining the waist.

Skirts and trousers are cut at the waist or under the bust. Skirts can be extra tight or loose, rigid, sculpture-like, but loose skirts falling softly to the ankle also appear.

This season there is also a large variety of trousers. Novelty are the trousers cut at the waist, loose, hiding the feet, with creases. The slim fit, however, is still conquering. The other two winners are harem trousers and dungarees. And of course, on a hot summer day, shorts are a must!

The blouses and dresses are sexy and feminine, they are made of transparent material or even lace. In this case, however, it is very important to wear skin-coloured underwear!

For chilly days it is advisable to get a mackintosh and a jacket, which can even be short-sleeved. Among shoes, we can pick from laced shoes to wedges, from high heels to sandals. The only thing important is that it goes with what we are wearing.

As a decoration, bow, plea and flowers are domineering. Crystals and stones are also present. Belts, handbags and beads are also very important accessories this season.

Do not forget, fashoin only shows a trend! It does not need to be followed at all costs. It is enough if you choose details that you feel belong to you, which suits you, in which you feel good.
